Egypt is working with all other African nations to ensure a better future for the whole continent at all levels, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed on Saturday 25/05/2019.
In spite of what has been achieved to fulfill mutual aspirations, there is still more to be done, a goal Egypt is looking forward to achieving in close cooperation with all African states, said a statement released by the ministry on the occasion of Africa Day.
In parallel with Egypt's current presidency of the African Union (AU), we celebrate Africa Day on May 25, which marks the anniversary of the founding of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) in 1963, the ministry said.
As part of Egypt's continuous efforts to work with all African countries for the empowerment of youth, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi announced Aswan the “capital for African youth” in 2019, the ministry added in its statement.
Egypt has also hosted many African youth events, such as the Arab African Youth Platform held on March 16-18 in Aswan.
In addition, Egypt will offer a scholarship dubbed "Nasser Fellowship for African Leadership" to 100 African youths, set to be held on June 8-22 in Cairo, the statement added.
The fellowship is part of an initiative adopted by the AU Commission for Human Resources, Science and Technology to qualify one million African youths by 2021.
