Culture Minister delivers "My Heritage Contest 4" awards

Dr. Inas Abdel-Dayem, Minister of Culture said "My Heritage Contest" documents the memory of civilization and its exhibition circulates the world to convey a positive image of the Egyptian society.
Minister of Culture, handed over the prizes of "My Heritage Competition for Plastic Arts- 4", organized by The National Organization for Urban Harmony, headed by Eng. Mohammed Abu Saada. The ceremonies included inaugurating an exhibition about the competition in Al- Hanager Art Center, the ceremonies were attended by Shuh Yu Wen, Chinese Cultural Counselor in Cairo, the artist Khaled Galal, head of the Cultural Production Sector, Dr. Fathi Abdel Wahab, head of Cultural Development Fund.
Abdel-Dayem said that My Heritage Competition aims at inspiring the architectural wealth and express the cultural spirit in all regions through distinctive works of art, adding that it comes as a motive for young people to preserve the various rich architectural models in Egypt, stressing that it is a documentation of the memory of civilization, which is one of its cultural aspects and it reflects the aesthetic scene of the country by presenting the features of historical periods of Egypt. Moreover, she said that it will be invested and established in several countries starting from the Egyptian Academy in Rome to convey a positive image about the Egyptian society.
For his part, the National Organization for Urban Harmony said that 137 works were presented to the competition and the jury selected only 100 works for 73 artists, the works dealt with buildings and urban heritage areas which differ from the content of monuments, as the heritage buildings reflect architectural style of modern era starting from the end of the nineteenth century, which reflect the characteristics of a particular era or a traditional architecture that reflects a local environment or is characterized by scarcity and exclusivity or urban value, including New Cairo, Zamalek, Maadi, Cairo Khedive, Garden Set In the Cairo Governorate, and Port Fouad in Port Said Governorate. In addition to the registered areas of outstanding value in Alexandria Governorate.
Furthermore, The Minister of Culture honored the jury of the competition, including Dr. Hamdi Abu Al-Maati, Head of Plastic Artist syndicate, Mr. Ahmed Shiha, Dr. Sayed Qandil, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts in Helwan University, Dr. Hesham Saudi, former Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Alexandria University, Dr. Yasser Menji, Professor in Graphic Department, Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University. The winners of the competition were: Esra Ibrahim, Ahmed Abdel Fattah Hussein, Saad Ahmed. Moreover, the Minister of Culture delivered three special prizes to Islam Abdul Wahid Abdul Waris, Amr Qandil Mohamed Farid Mahmoud Mahmoud.
