The Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping and Peace building (CCCPA) on Tuesday 18/6/2019 signed a cooperation protocol with the UN Office of Rule of Law and Security Institutions (OROLSI).
The protocol aims to boost the two sides' efforts in the areas of extremism and terrorism prevention, as well as disarmament, demobilization and reintegration in Africa.
For his part, OROLSI Assistant Secretary-General Alexander Zuev expressed the UN's appreciation for Egypt as one of the major contributors of military and police forces to peacekeeping missions.
In turn, CCCPA chief Ashraf Sweilam said the fresh cooperation framework reached with the OROLSI is in line with the priorities of Egypt's 2019 chairmanship of the African Union (AU), including building African capacity and enhancing the UN-AU partnership on promoting peace and security in Africa.
