Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli on Wednesday June 19, 2019 attended the signing ceremony of a protocol of cooperation between the Ministry of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriate Affairs and the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA) on preparing proposals for joint development projects.

The joint projects will be implemented to upgrade capabilities and potentials of the Egyptian youth to qualify them for the labor market and to support small and micro-sized projects nationwide, mainly in the governorates with high rates of irregular migration.

The cooperation protocol was signed by Immigration Minister Nabila Makram and Head of MSMEDA Nevine Gamea.

Makram expressed her pleasure for signing the protocol, saying that it aims to back the community development projects with the support of Egyptian expats in order to reduce poverty rates and create job opportunities in the targeted areas.

Meanwhile, Gamea noted that the protocol involves issues related to immigration and engagement of Egyptian expatriates in the development efforts with the aim of reducing rates of irregular migration.

She pointed out that under the protocol, both sides will work on creating mechanisms to lure Egyptian expats' investments in the field of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, in addition to creating development partnerships.
