Sisi: Egypt looking forward to boosting coop. with Serbia

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi Expressed on Monday 24/6/2019 Egypt's eagerness to boost mechanisms of cooperation with Serbia at various levels in light of Egypt's underway mega national development projects combined with the success of its economic reform program that reflected on all its macroeconomic indicators.

 

He made the remarks during a meeting with visiting President of the Serbian National Assembly Maya Goykovich in the presence of House Speaker Ali Abdel Aal.

 

President Sisi hailed the historical relations between Egypt and Serbia that mark their 11th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations, Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Rady said.

 

He added that Sisi praised the pioneering role of the Balkan state in the foundation of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

 

The president highlighted the importance of the parliamentary and social aspects in enriching the bilateral relations, as well as the role of the Serbian Egyptian Friendship Association (SEFA) in boosting parliamentary cooperation, the spokesman noted.

 

Serbian National Assembly President Goykovich, meanwhile, voiced her country's appreciation of the historical relations with Egypt. She hailed Egypt's pivotal role in maintaining peace and stability in the Middle East, Africa and the Mediterranean region.

The discussions took up situations in Palestine, Sudan, Libya, Syria, and the Gulf region.
