Sisi: Egypt keen on reaching Africa's strategic targets in peace, security

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said on Tuesday 25/6/2019 Egypt is keen throughout its chairmanship of the African Union on reaching Africa's strategic targets in the fields of peace, security and stability, ending conflicts and reaching economic and social development, economic integration and regional inclusion as well as activating the continental free trade zone and the African Union's financial and institutional reform.
During talks here with his Ghanaian counterpart Nana Akufo-Addo, President Sisi praised the profound historical ties between Egypt and Ghana at the political, economic, security and cultural levels, Presidency Spokesman Bassam Radi said.
The president hailed increasing cooperation between the two countries through the various partnership programs and asserted Egypt's keenness on maintaining regular political consultations at the level of foreign ministries and reaching security and stability in Africa.
The Ghanaian president expressed his country's appreciation of the distinguished historical relations with Egypt and praised its pivotal role on the African arena particularly its current efforts as African Union chair.
He asserted his country's keenness on developing bilateral relations in all fields especially trade and economic cooperation, he said.
He congratulated Egypt on the distinguished and successful organization of the Africa Cup of Nations.
The talks covered ways to boost bilateral relations and joint African action as well as the latest developments in Sudan and Libya.
