Libyan MPs keen on boosting ties with Egypt on fighting terrorism

A delegation of Libyan MPs highlighted on Saturday July 13, 2019 their keenness on boosting cooperation with Egypt in the field of fighting terrorism.
The delegation, currently on a visit to Cairo, stressed that the Libyan House of Representatives supports all efforts aimed at eradicating terrorism and disarming terror groups.
The lawmakers praised the Egyptian role, seeking to bring about stability and security in Libya, and thanked the invitation extended by Cairo to them.
Libyan MP Ibtisam al Robeiy cited the Egyptian effort, supporting the security in the war-torn North African country, and blocking the road before any foreign interference in the Libyan affairs.
She shed light on the malicious Turkish role, aimed at destabilizing Libya, as it provided the militant groups and militias with weapons.
For his side, head of the Arab Affairs committee in the Egyptian parliament Ahmed Raslan stressed that the Libyan national security was a red-line to Egypt, asserting that Cairo would spare no effort to reach a consensus among the different Libyan factions.
