Egypt seeks to expand African transport network – official

Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs Abu Bakr Hanafi said Egypt, under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, seeks to expand the transportation network in Africa.
He made the remarks in press statements on Sunday July 14, 2019 on the fringe of a workshop organized by the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development affiliated to the Foreign Ministry - in tandem with Al Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies.
Hanafi underlined the importance of the Agreement on Rules of Origin for the African Continental Free Trade Area.
He noted that EgyptAir currently operates flights to Rwanda's Kigali and Cameroon's Douala.
He pointed out that efforts are under way to establish an African maritime company.
He underscored the key role of African media in following up development projects in the continent in order to disseminate the right information about them away from the distorted and incomplete reports of foreign media.
