The Africa-Russian Summit comes to reflect the growing level of relations of cooperation between the two sides as well as the political will of participating leaders to strengthen relations in all aspects, thus leading to achieve our goals of peace, stability and sustainable development. The Russian-African Economic Forum, which was held yesterday 23 October, has achieved tangible success for all parties thanks to the interactions it witnessed among different economic actors, where an elite of African and Russian businessmen have participated. The conference focused on a number of topics of priority for the African states, topped by the sectors of infrastructure, industry, agriculture, health, energy and applications of modern technology through the main three axes of the forum's discussions namely; efforts to develop economic ties, stimulate the establishment of joint projects and promote cooperation in the human and social fields. The forum also launched a platform for direct dialogue between the public and private sectors, which gives an additional dimension to the Russian-African relations by encouraging involvement of the Russian entrepreneurs in Africa in the continent's priority sectors.
Ladies and gentlemen,
The African and Russian two sides, during the two sessions of the summit today, reviewed the points of view explicitly on several topics of mutual concern topped by the issues of cooperation in the political, security, economic, commercial, scientific, technical and human fields. Head of the African states and governments and Russia have approved a final communiqué that underscores the principles on which the two sides agreed, topped by the respect of international law norms and principles of the United Nations Charter in addition to achieving peace and security through building more equal and just system in the international relations based on the principles of pluralism, respect for sovereignty, non-interference in the internal affairs of states, the peaceful settlement of conflicts, the safeguarding of national identity and civilizational diversity. The final communiqué also supported the goals of Africa's 2063 development agenda and the goals of 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Moreover, a ministerial mechanism has been launched to follow up the dialogue and partnership, the outcomes which we highly appreciate and see that they establish solid base for development of the African-Russian relations.
Out of our common responsibility, the African and Russian two sides will continue coordination to follow up implementation of the outcomes of this summit thus achieving hopes and aspirations of the peoples of our African continent and the friendly people of the Russian Federation. It remains the responsibility of all of us to build on what has been achieved and work together to enhance the outcomes of the first edition of the Russia-Africa Summit in order to better reflect the needs of our African continent as well as aspirations of our peoples and sons inside and outside the continent, who monitor our summit hoping it to achieve a lot and its results to reflect a reality where the younger generations can benefit from its fruits and positive results.
