Sisi probes military cooperation with Germany

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received at his residence in Berlin on Monday 18/11/2019 a delegation of the Federation of German Security and Defense Industries.
They discussed means to expand military cooperation between Egypt and Germany including the launch of joint industrialization projects in Egypt in the light of the capabilities available at the Ministry of Military Production and the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI).
Sisi hailed during the meeting, which was attended by Military Production Minister Mohamed Saeed el Assar and AOI head Abdel Meneen el Terras, the development of relations between Egypt and Germany during the past years.
He affirmed Egypt's keenness on developing relations between Egypt and Germany and investment opportunities to achieve joint cooperation in the security and military domains.
The president asserted the importance of taking into consideration the challenges the region is facing including the spread of terrorism and armed organizations that pose threats to the security of the region and seek to spread chaos and violence, a matter that requires the highest level of preparedness along with using the most up-to-date technology in the security domain.
Presidential spokesperson Bassam Rady said members of the German delegation praised Egypt's role in supporting security and stability in the region as well as its efforts in combating terrorism.
They expressed keenness on promoting cooperation with Egypt to provide it with its needs to boost its defense capabilities, Rady added.
