Military Production Minister Mohamed el Assar and Chairman of DMG Mori of Germany Christian Thönes signed a letter of intent on digitization within the framework of the ministry's plans for digital transformation and pursuance of the fourth industrial revolution.
The signing ceremony was held on the fringe of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's current visit to Germany to attend the G-20 Compact with Africa meetings, according to a statement issued by the Military Production Ministry on Wednesday 19/11/2019.
The letter of intent is meant to develop the ministry's factories in preparation to joining the fourth industrial revolution, it said.
The ministry will benefit from the German company's expertise in modern technology and innovative solutions for maintenance and production of up-to-date machines and equipment, it added.
Thönes expressed confidence that the deal would be successful in view of the great potentials of the factories of the Military Production Ministry.
He said the agreement aims to set up smart factories based on digitization in the fields of industrialization.
It also includes several projects for medical industrialization and transferring technology to Egypt, he added.
