Culture Minister mourns death of veteran filmmaker Samir Seif

Minister of Culture Enas Abdel Dayem mourned on Monday 9/12/2019 the death of veteran filmmaker Samir Seif.
Seif passed away at the age of 72 after a heart attack.
In a statement, Abdel Dayem said that the deceased was a good teacher for the younger generations and several creative directors.
His death is a great loss for the cinematic profession in Egypt and the Arab World, she added.
The Egyptian film and TV director and writer who rose to prominence in the early 1980s, was nominated for the Golden Pyramid Award at the Cairo International Film Festival twice, in 1999 and 2002. His directorial debut came in 1977 with the film Ota Ala Nar.
Seif was known for Souq al mot aa (1999), The Fish's Tail (2003) and Ma'ali al wazir (2002).
