Chairman of the State Information Service (SIS) Ambassador Salah Abdel Sadek received Chinese Ambassador in Cairo Song Aiguo in the SIS headquarters. The Chinese ambassador asserted during the meeting that relations between his country and Egypt are strong and deeply-rooted. The two sides discussed means of promoting relations between the two countries especially in the media domain in light of the good bilateral relations that reached the level of comprehensive strategic partnership after the recent visit to China by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
The two ambassadors discussed a memorandum of understanding on joint media cooperation that is now being prepared to be signed shortly between the SIS on one hand and the Chinese News Agency Xinhua, the Chinese Publishing and Distribution Administration and the Chinese General Administration of Press and Publication.
Ambassador Abdel Sadek highlighted at the meeting that the SIS is about to add the Chinese language to be used in the SIS Internet Website together with other languages including English, French and Spanish. Ambassador Abdel Sadek pointed out that the move comes within the framework of the SIS's keenness to get the Chinese public opinion acquainted with the Egyptian policies along with the recent developments at the local and regional levels.
