Russian plane crash

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi telephoned on Saturday 31/10/2015 Russian President Vladimir Putin, offering condolences over the victims of a Russian airliner that crashed in Egypt's central Sinai, killing all on board.

During the call, President Sisi stressed he has been following up the latest developments of the crash since his return to Cairo from a foreign tour, Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said.

The President also noted that the prime minister headed to the scene of the incident to follow up the situation.

The Russian president, for his part, voiced appreciation to President Sisi and lauded the role of the Egyptian authorities that rushed to the scene and opened a probe into the incident to reveal its causes, reflecting the deeply-rooted relations between the two countries.

The Egyptian leader stressed that the presidency is closely following up with a crisis management committee the situation in Sinai.
