Mahmoud Mukhtar
(nicknamed el-Tetsh) was an Egyptian football player. He was born in 1905 in Cairo, Egypt and played for el-Ahly club in 1922. He joined the first team in the same year and played his first match with el-Ahly aginist aviation English team in the Sultan Cup of Egypt. El-Ahly won 2:1, with el-Tetsh scoring the winning goal.

People nicknamed Mahmoud Mukhtar el-Tetsh because of his short stature and ability to jump, which delighted the people. He was known to a small Bahlawan in London, who performed in the royal palace Buckingham concerts.

El-Tetsh was part of the leadership team throughout Egypt for ten years until he decided to retire from the game, which he did at the climax of his career in 1940. Egypt also participated with the Egyptian mission in the Olympics years 1924, 1928 and 1936.

El-Tetsh assumed the post of secretary general of the Egyptian Olympic Committee from 1956 until 1959.

The Ahly Club in el-Gezira has a stadium named after el-Tetsh to commemorate his big role in raising the level of the game in the Ahly Club.

Saleh Selim
(b. September 11, 1930 d. May 6, 2002) was a famous Egyptian football player and actor. He was nicknamed El Maestro because of his way of leading the Ahly football team to many victories. He then became the manager of the team, then member of the board of directors of the club. He finally became one of the most successful presidents of the club.

Selim won 9 successive League titles (1948/49 To 1958/59) (Egyptian Alltime Record) He scored 92 goals for Al-Ahly, 78 in Egyptian league & 14 in Egyptian Cup.

Rifaat El-Fanageely
A famous football player, who began his career in the Suez Club before moving to Al-Ahly in 1953 at the age of 16.

Al-Fanageely won the Egyptian League title 7 times and the Egyptian Cup six times. He played for the National Team for well over 17 years from 1953 to 1970 taking part in three Olympic sessions. He won Egypt a fourth place in the 1964 Games and himself the title of best defender in the 1960 Rome Games.

Mahmoud El Khatib
(Born 30 October 1954), he is popularly nicknamed Bibo, is a former Egyptian football player.

played for Al-Ahly (the African club of the century) between 1972-1988 and for the Egyptian National Team between 1974-1986 (scoring 27 goals). He made his debut in the second week of the 1972/73 season of the Egyptian League against Taiaran on October 13, 1972.

Mahmoud El Khatib is one of the most skilled, if not the most skilled football player, who defined playgrounds throughout Egyptian history.

Bibo moved to Al-Ahly in 1971 and spent 16 years with the Club before he retired in 1988 due to injuries he suffered from constantly.

Defenders would fouled him deliberately, a tactic that eventually took its toll on the player. A funny instance of the Al-Ahly managerial staff trying to counter this problem, was when they let another player wear his number 10 shirt.

Bibo won the Egyptian League title eleven times, the Egyptian Cup six times, the African Cup Winner's Cup three times, and the African Champions League twice with his club Al-Ahly. He was also chosen best player in Egypt five times during his career.

One of Mahmoud El Khatib's greatest achievements was winning the Ballon D'Or (Golden Ball), the most prestigious individual award in football, for being the best football player in Africa in 1983.

was selected to be a member of the International Committee for Fair Play after playing 450 domestic and international games without being reprimanded once.

Finally in 2007 Bibo was named the second best African Footballer in the last 50 years by the CAF.
