Introduction

A project for the restoration of al-Muizz Li-Deenilla al-Fatimi Street in the old Cairo district has been finalized.

The street, at the heart of historical Cairo, has many monuments, some of which date as far back as AD 1040. It branches off into numerous by-ways and alleys as historical and as old as it is.

With 33 Islamic monuments newly restored, the street has become an open museum equipped with the most up-to-date functional, aesthetic and visual elements that add to visitors’ experience.
