The Central Agency for Public Mobilization & Statistics is Considered According to   the presidential decree no. 2915 of year 1964,  The official source for providing all the governmental and non- governmental institutions as well as international organizations with statistical data and reports that are essential in planning, development and evaluation processes.

CAPMAS in its role and task follows the statistics act No.35 of year 1960 (Revised by amendment act No.28 of year 1982) and also the principals of official statistics issued by United Nations Statistical Commission to produce statistical data on internationally accepted standers .

CAPMAS has the pleasure to provide data users with this brief  and comprehensive booklet which contains salient demographic, social and economic statistic/ indicators about Egypt to be a brief and a comprehensive reference for these important data.

 For more detailed statistics and information users are advised to consult the Statistical Yearbook, periodic statistical bulletins and CAPMAS specialized studies.
