Egypt: Gift of the Nile

Egypt has developed from the earliest of times as a multi-cultural community, a blending of the traditions of Africa and the Middle East, with the influences of Europe across the Mediterranean Sea.

Egyptian society is tolerant and welcoming with a democratically elected government. No country on earth boasts a longer recorded history than does Egypt, the Eternal 'Gift of the Nile' as described by the Historian Herodotus .

History and Civilization:

Egypt's history is considered by many as the history of the human civilizations in which Ancient Egyptians introduced and created a civilization that leads in arts, andarchitecture. This civilization astonished the world and its scientists with the amount of knowledge it possessed in diversified areas. Not only was this but, Egypt the first country in the ancient time that introduced writing principals with the creation of the hieroglyphic signs and letters. Ancient Egyptians were committed to documenting and recording their history as well as the events they have created and lived through. With this great step made, Egypt was moved from prehistoric ages to become the first country with a documented history, and stable systems which made Egypt a mother of all nations.

Tourism

Egypt has been always a country of tourism where Europeans used to ‎visit and see its antiquities dating back to the various eras and ‎civilizations. In the recreational tourism domain, there are scores of ‎unique tourist destinations such as Sharm -el-Sheikh, Hurghada, Safaga ‎and others. Moreover, Egypt is renowned for therapeutical and ‎environmental tourism as well as other kinds such as Safari, conferences ‎and sports.‎

Culture & Art

Egypt possesses huge cultural assets derived from the stock of the Egyptain civilizations of both its ancient and modern history. This is also consolidated by its existing status that rendered Egypt a radiating centre for the Arab and Islamic culture in all its aspects in literatures, art, printing and publishing.

Economy:

At the turn of this decade, Egypt chose to liberalize its economy and enable its private sector to take the lead in generating growth and employment. Major strides have been taken to revamp conditions for entry, operations and exit for business by completely dismantling bureaucratic barriers and streamlining procedures. The completion of the remaining measures aimed at further streamlining the regulatory environment, will make the Egyptian economy one of the most open and internationally integrated markets in the region.


Egypt has been the center of trade and enterprise in the Middle East for centuries, and its location between the continents of Africa and Asia remains the crossroads between the East and the West. With a population of over 77  million, Egypt has the largest single market in the region. It is rich in human resources, its businessmen are experienced in the markets of its neighbor countries, and it possesses a good mix of semi-skilled, skilled and highly qualified labour force.


Egypt's recent global integration offers rewarding gains in economies of scale for both industrial and trading businesses. By setting up an office or investing in Egypt, a business can profit from the growing domestic market, of the Arab countries and the modernizing African countries, and expand on the existing trade links with the European Community and the United States.
