Born in Minya on August 10, 1907, Tuni was founder of the Egyptian federations of swimming, gymnastics and country clubs. He led the Egyptian missions to the Olympic Games in London, Helsinki, and Rome in 1948, 1952 and 1960, was a lifetime member of the International Olympic Committee, and founder of the Cairo Stadium Museum. He received the order of the local Olympic Committees and the first athlete ever to be awarded the UNESCO Prize in 1988. Tuni died on August 10, 1997
