As an actor from the pioneer generation in the Egyptian cinema, he worked throughout his life for creating meaningful cinema.

Mini-biography

The signs of his acting talent appeared when he was too young, firstly in his rhetorical style and courage to face the audience that exceeded those of his colleagues in the district or school, until his friend the director Mohamed Abdel Gawad saw him,and encouraged him to work in the "George Abyad" acting team at Ramses theatre. He kept moving from theatre to another, until the opportunity came when the actress Amina Mohamed, an aunt of the great artist Amina Rizk, discovered him, and produce for him a film at her own expense and introduced him to the world of cinema through the movie "Tina Wong", and then he started his launch in the world of movies in 1937.

He taught acting in the "Lecture Hall" which became later as the Higher Institute for Acting, then he joined the group of George Abyad and Aziz Eid … in 1935 he performed a heroic roles before Fatma Rushdi on "Berntania" theatre, and in 1936 Youssef Wahbi began the theatrical season with acting the novel "Man of the hour" or "Ragoul Al Sa'a" and he gave Hussein Sidqi a role in the play.

He started his movie career in 1935 with modest films until he played the hero role in the movie "the Determination" or "Al Azeema" in the role of "Mohammed Effendi" with Fatma Rushdi and Anwar Wagdi in 1939 and this film which was directed by Kamal Selim is still a reference to the critics, to the point where they associated him to the realism feature in the Egyptian cinema.

In the year 1942 he established the company "Modern Egypt" or "Masr El Hadetha" which produced " The Factor", a film directed by Ahmed Kamel Morsi in 1943.
