After having obtained his BA from Cairo University in 1930, Osman Amin went to Paris on scholarship and there spent 7 years studying literature, art, science and philosophy (René Descartes, Henri Bergson, Baruch de Spinoza, and August Comte). His published books include: Mohammad Abdu: The Pioneer Egyptian Intellectual: Descartes: Islamic figures and sects: Philosophic trials Forerunners of humanitarian awareness in the Islamic Orient. He also translated books by Descartes and other world-renowned philosophers.
