German, European civilizations based on ancient Egyptian one

Germany and Europe built their modern civilizations on the ancient Egyptian civilization, said Dietrich Wildung Director of the Egyptian Museum in Berlin.

In statements to MENA Friday 30/11/2007 sidelines of the inauguration of an exhibition on the Egyptian civilization and the Prussian era, Wildung said without Egypt, the modern civilizations of Rome and Europe would have never seen the day light.

Wildung said Egyptian Museums are spread in various world parts, in Paris, London, Rome, Berlin and New York.

Germans are greatly interested in the Egyptian civilization, he said, expecting an unprecedented turnout to the exhibition.

Documents, transcripts and pictures, the most important discoveries of German Egyptologist Richard Lepsius will for the first time be showcased in the exhibition.
