October epic and peace battle The glorious war of October 6, 1973 changed the power balance in the ME region and made the entire world admit that Egypt becomes able to determine the destiny of the power relations in the ME region especially in Palestine. October 6 restored the self-confidence of Egyptians in their ability to face the enemy regardless of its capabilities in defense of dignity, land and sovereignty. The glorious October epic destroyed the Israeli legendary stating that the Israeli army can never be defeated. President Mubarak followed the peace path to solve any problem in order to achieve peace without entering into wars. Along his tour for peace he was very patient and calm until he regained Taba then he was enthusiastic and revolutionary while he urged Palestinians and Israelis to continue peace process based on land for peace principle. He was and still is removing all the obstacles which delay the peace process. He has critical attitudes towards any delay to open the path for peace in order to insure that there will be a fair settlement for the crises. What is happening now in the ME region makes us in a dire need to learn October war lessons which emphasized the need to have strong national army.
