October Victory anniversary In October 6, 1973 our Armed Forces had achieved a great victory when they crossed the Suez Canal and defeated the enemy and our airmen headed by President Hosni Mubarak took off with their war planes. October war had opened the door for peace in the region and it is considered a great military victory that changed events in the ME. It was some sort of marvelous legendary action as the courageous and heroic soldiers of Egypt carried it out with highest honor and the commanders of the army who led their units and were ahead of them in the battle set an example for the soldiers for the restoration of the military honor and dignity. The victory of October 6, 1973 was not a victory for the Egyptian people where the Egyptian Armed Forces succeeded to restore its lines and troops, launch war on enemies and achieve victory during a short period of time. The war of October restored the self confidence of Egyptians as well as Arabs in their ability to face the enemy regardless of its capabilities in defense of dignity, lands and sovereignty. While we are celebrating the 34th anniversary of the glorious war of October, we must remember and hail our Armed Forces, martyrs and heroes, late President Sadat who gave the go ahead of the October war.
