October's spirit to face the challenges President Hosni Mubarak said in an interview with the Armed Forces newspaper to mark the 35th anniversary of October victory that the spirit of October is what we need to face the challenges and to achieve development. He said that he had not taken throughout his life, both in military or political life any hasty or emotional decisions. This was evident during the rebuilding of our air force in preparing for October war and this is evident in the many difficult decisions that he took as a President of the Republic. On the social dimension, he requested the government to find solutions for the limited-income citizens. He said that the low-income brackets should not bear alone the reform bill and the effects of the hiking world prices. About the role of Egypt and its leadership, he said that no one can say or imagine that he can break Egypt's role because the Egyptian role is based on facts, history, geography and the military strength. Therefore, we must maintain a military force to protect peace thus our Armed Forces will continue its national role in educating the new generations the meanings of patriotism and loyalty to the homeland.
