How to benefit from October War

The victory achieved by the Egyptian army in the October War did not come from scratch or by luck. It came as a result of a scientific accurate plan put by the Egyptian Armed Forces.

President Mubarak addressed the Egyptian people in the 34th anniversary of October War saying that the victory required relentless efforts that lasted for 6 years for the sake of rebuilding the Armed Forces and realizing victory. Egyptian Armed Forces crossed the Suez Canal and destroyed the Bar Lev Line within only 6 hours.

The victory depended on a plan based on the study, science, experience and training. The Egyptian leaders who participated in this glorious war paid attention to the small details and put the factor of time into account. Israel alleged that it destroyed the Egyptian army in 1967, but war of October 1973 proved that Egyptians can achieve victory at any time.

Today, we are in a dire need to repeat this victory in all fields of our contemporary life. No one can deny that Egypt faces great challenges but we have started the march and no one can stop us. President Mubarak said, in his speech to the nation yesterday, that realization of our ambitions and priorities will not come within one night and that we are on the right path.

We must continue efforts of the development in order to fight poverty, create more job opportunities, realize high rates of growth, investment, employing and strike balance between wages and prices, reduce rates of inflation, improve services for citizens and promote the political participation. All Egyptian laborers must enjoy the spirit and will of soldiers in the battlefield.
