Introduction

"ITU Telecom Africa 2008" which is organized by the International Telecom Union "ITU" will be held in Cairo during the period from May 11-15, 2008. Cairo will host Telecom Africa for the 3rd time after the great success accomplished in 1994 and 2004.

Choosing Egypt to host Telecom Africa 2008 emphasizes the regional and international confidence in the Egyptian communication sector and for the pioneer role of this sector in pushing and developing this sector in the African continent. Egypt is keen to cooperate and unify all the efforts in Africa to exchange the experiences and transfer them to all the African communication sectors.

The forum will be organized under the theme "ICTs in Africa: A Continent on the Move" and its activities will be convened in Cairo International Conference Center. 250 exhibitors from more than 30 countries will participate in the conference while the number of visitors will range from 5000 to 6000 visitors from more than 75 countries.

Telecom Africa 2008 Forum will discuss all the technical and strategic affairs for the communication industry. The Forum will also work to implement partnership between the private sector and the Public sector.
