Egypt and Greece enjoy excellent bilateral relations, as well as a convergence of views and cooperation on various regional and international issues in general. This is due, in part, to historical and geographical ties, cultural links and long-standing diplomatic relations between the two countries that date back to 1833. In addition, there is a community of Greeks living in Egypt, as well as a sizeable community of Egyptians in Greece.
