Egypt and Argentina shared identical views on the different issues of mutual concern, which was represented in rejecting any military action against Iraq.
Egypt and Argentina agreed to boost their political and economic cooperation during two visits by former Argentinean President Carlos Menem to Egypt in 1991 and 1992.
On 13/9/2014, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Argentine Foreign Minister Héctor Timerman at the Presidential Palace. During the meeting, Timerman hailed Egyptian efforts to reach a ceasefire between the Palestinian and Israeli sides, pointing out to the importance of resuming negotiations in order to reach a final settlement.
Sisi also reiterated his country’s condemnation of all sorts of terror, pointing out to Egypt’s leading role in combating terrorism. Also, Sisi lauded relations between the two countries and hoped to foster mutual relations in all fields.
