In the field of health and medicine: Necessary arrangements have been made to dispatch medical convoys to Ethiopia on a regular basis, three convoys have been sent during the period from December 2009 to June 2010.
Preparations for the implementation on an Egyptian program to fight malaria using modern methods are ongoing. This is done in collaboration with the Italian side in the framework of cooperation between the two countries in Africa and in implementation of the memorandum of understanding signed by the President of Egypt and Italian Prime Minister during his recent visit to Rome in May 2010.
On 3/3/2015, an Egyptian medical delegation visiting Ethiopia conducted 40 medical operations in St. Paul Hospital in Addis Ababa. The 15-member medical team delivered a number of lectures and gave courses to members of several departments in the hospital. They also gave a course to 20 nurses in the field of sterilization.
On 14/6/2014, the Egyptian Ambassador to Ethiopia handed over medical equipment of intensive care unit of the heart center at Black Lion hospital in Ethiopia. The medical equipments are funded by the Egyptian Fund for Technical Cooperation with Africa.
