On 9/7/2015, Foreign Minister visited South Sudan and held extensive talks and meetings. He took part in celebrations marking the fourth anniversary of South Sudan's independence and held a number of meetings with senior South Sudanese officials, including President Salva Kiir and his counterpart.

On 16/12/2014, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Hossam Moghazi said that he would convey a verbal message from President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi to South Sudanese President Salva Kiir. The message affirms that Egypt was keen on promoting ties with Africa and activating agreements which were reached during the visit of Salva Kiir to Egypt and his meeting with Sisi.

On 22/11/2014, President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi is holding talks with his visiting South Sudanese counterpart Salva Kiir Mayardit.

On 27/10/2014, South Sudan Minister of Electricity and Dams Jemma Nunu Kumba visited Egypt and approved with Egypt joint mechanisms to manage water resources to the best interest of the two countries.

On 31/8/2014, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister underlined with Governor of Western Bahr el-Ghazal state Rizik Zakaria Hassan the importance of boosting cooperation between Egypt and South Sudan in the water resources field.

On 23/3/2014, former President Adly Mansour received a message from South Sudan President Salva Kiir dealing with means of boosting bilateral relations, implications of local and regional conditions on security and stability in Africa.

On 23/3/2014, Minister of Defense met the South Sudan delegation with whom he discussed means of activating relations in all fields in general and the military domain in particular.

On 8/3/2014, Foreign Minister met with his South Sudanese counterpart Barnaba Marial Benjamin on boosting bilateral relations. The meeting tackled ways of enhancing trade, economic, and investment cooperation. Benjamin conveyed his country's appreciation for the Egyptian humanitarian aid offered to the South Sudanese people.

On 14/3/2013, South Sudan's President Salva Kiir welcomed a high-level Egyptian delegation that arrived Juba on a one-day visit for talks on means of promoting bilateral ties, especially in the commercial, economic and investment fields.
