Egypt and the Vatican

Egypt and the Holy See maintain friendly and stable relations since the exchange of diplomatic relations between the two countries on May 23, 1947.
The sharing of common views on key issues such as peace process in the Middle East, the perception of the Middle East as a free nuclear zone have contributed to an ever growing understanding between the two countries. In addition to the shared the political issues the two countries have common cultural and social interests in regards to the enhancement of inter- religious dialogue and the preservation of family values and safeguarding the human lives.
