Egypt and Peru

Monday، 01 February 2016 12:00 AM

Since the July 23, 1952 revolution, Egypt has been interested in establishing itself internationally considering its historical roles and civilizations, as well as geopolitical location and active diplomacy within its historical circles, whether Arabic, Africa, or Mediterranean, and as a principal player in the framework of the Non-Alignment Movement.

All of the above played an important role in the expansion of Egyptian relations with the international sphere, including Latin America, which motivated the exchange of relations with the Republic of Peru.

Among the reasons that have helped maintain excellent diplomatic relations between the two countries for more than 40 years – in addition to fact that both had great civilizations and important cultural heritage, present in the Pharaohs' Civilization in Egypt and the Incan Civilization of Peru – the arrival of Peruvian leadership on the 1960s which agreed in many of its policies with the steps taken within Egypt by the July Revolution, such as the laws of agricultural reform, the two countries agree upon many international issues, especially within the work of the Non-Alignment movement.
