President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held a meeting on Wednesday 20/4/2016 with Minister of Interior Magdy Abdel Ghaffar in the presence of the minister's aides.

Presidency spokesman Alaa Yousef said that the president warned against attempts to harm national institutions and strain relations between citizens and state agencies to foment sedition and destabilize the country.

The president stressed the importance of punishing any person making mistakes either citizens or policemen, added the spokesman.

President Sisi stressed that the law will be rigorously applied to policemen who commit violations.

The meeting tackled also the amendments that will be introduced to the police law, especially those related to human rights, in order to send them to the parliament for approval.

Sisi reiterated the importance of raising awareness among policemen to protect the country and provide high-level services for citizens.

The Egyptian people appreciate sacrifices of policemen but reject their individual violations, Sisi said.
