Sisi stresses Egypt’s support for Libya’s presidential council

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Saturday 7/5/2016 stressed Egypt's support for the Presidential Council and the Libyan institutions.
Sisi made the remarks at a meeting with head of Libya's unity government, Fayez al Sarraj.
During the meeting, Sisi stressed the importance of preserving such institutions, including the Libyan army, to regain control over the entire Libyan territories, restore security and fight terrorism.
Presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said the president said that ban on weapons shipments to the Libyan army should be lifted.
Deputies of the Libyan Prime Minister and members of the Presidential Council as well as the Egyptian foreign minister and the Egyptian ambassador to Libya attended the meeting.
Al Sarraj expressed his country's appreciation for Egypt's leading role in the Middle East, the spokesman said.
