The Non-Aligned Movement Committee on Palestine has endorsed a declaration issued by NAM summit, now in session in Venezuela, stressing the movement's full support for the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people’s right to establish an independent State within the borders of June 4, 1967 with Al Quds as its capital.

Egypt on Saturday 17/9/2016 participated in the meeting of the committee that was held on the sidelines of the 17th NAM summit in Venezuela.

The committee has voiced regret over the stalemate in the peace process, spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid said in a press statement.

It stressed its keenness to provide all forms of support for regional and international efforts aiming at reviving the peace talks between the Israeli and the Palestinian sides, Abu Zeid said.

NAM condemned the continued Israeli abuses against the Palestinian people and the illegal practices and provocations in the occupied territories, especially at Al Aqsa Mosque.

The movement also denounced the illegal settlement expansion policy in the West Bank, which aims at changing the demographic situation on the ground and undermining the two-state solution. It called on Israel to lift its blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip.
