Egypt's nominee for UNESCO director general Moushira Khattab has delivered a lecture in the French capital Paris about rights of girl and its relation to sustainable development.
The lecture tackled the Egyptian experiment to support girls through three initiatives including means to combat depriving girls of education, marriage of children and female genital mutilation.
While fighting the danger of terrorism, the world should back UNESCO efforts to promote its endeavors aimed at boosting the quality of education, she added.
War on terrorism will only succeed by paying attention to education and fighting extremist thought, she pointed out.
Giving particular interest to education and girls is a cornerstone of sustainable development goals, Khattab added.
