Kabil: Egypt, ILO start implementing labor program in June

Trade and Industry Minister Tarek Kabil said that Egypt, in cooperation with the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the Ready Made Garments Export Council will start implementing the "Better Work" program in early June.
During a plenary session of talks with ILO Cairo Office Director Peter van Rooij and his accompanying delegation, Kabil said that the program will be implemented in six monthsinstead of 18 months.
The minister further noted that an international forum grouping buyers and exporters of textiles will be held in November.
For his part, the ILO official stressed the importance of the Better Work Program in improving labor standards performance in Egypt and beefing up Egyptian exports to foreign markets. (MENA)
