French President Emmanuel Macron extended on Tuesday 30/5/2017 in a phone call with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi his condolences over the victims of Minya terrorist attack.
Macron emphasized his country's condemnation of this heinous terrorist act and voiced full solidarity with Egypt in countering terrorism that poses a threat to the whole world.
Meanwhile, President Sisi voiced appreciation for Macron's call, noting that it reflects the strength of Cairo-Paris relations.
Minya attack has reiterated the importance of pooling the counter-terrorism international efforts, Sisi said.
The two sides also agreed on continuing coordination and consultation on a set of regional and international issues of mutual concern, including the situation in Libya as well as means of pushing forward the stalled political process in the conflict-torn country.
On Friday, unidentified gunmen opened fire at a bus carrying Christians on their way to the Monastery of St. Samuel the Confessor in the Upper Egyptian governorate of Minya, leaving 29 dead and dozens others injured.
