Believing in Egypt's important role in regional affairs, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, in his third year of presidency, sought to cooperate and communicate with the whole world to confront terrorism, religious extremism and the refugee problem.
During the last year, President Sisi made intensive visits and receptions to follow up and consult with the Arab countries to unite the Arab stance towards many challenges, bring security to the region and preserve the unity and integrity of the Arab countries.
In the framework of the Egyptian role in the African continent, President Sisi held intensive consultations with many African leaders to discuss issues of common concern such as development, terrorism, organized crime, poverty and stability in the African continent.
This year also witnessed a new chapter of the Egyptian-American relations. The recent visit of President Sisi to the US reflects the US administration's conviction in cooperate with Egypt in various fields.

Regarding Egyptian-European relations, this year witnessed intensive talks with many European countries regarding international crises such as combating terrorism, confronting the refugee crisis and illegal migration, and reaching political settlements for the crises in the Middle East.

President Sisi held two visits to India and China and attended the G20 summit. The president also received the Singaporean president in his first visit to Cairo since 20 years.

July 10, 2016: Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation Minister’s Visit

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Salaheddine Mezouar to discuss bilateral relations.
August 15, 2016: Yemen's Prime Minister Visit

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi affirmed Egypt's continued support of Yemen and its legitimate government under President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi. Egypt is keen on efforts aiming to attain stability in Yemen and its territorial integrity.
August 24, 2016: Jordan's King Visit

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received King Abdullah II of Jordan, where they held a closed session of talks on ways of boosting bilateral relations in all fields. President Sisi praised Jordan's support for Egypt in the fight against terrorism during the past period. During the meeting, the two leaders urged stepping up the level of coordination and cooperation between the two countries in the coming period to solve the Mideast issues, fight terrorism and spread moderate teachings of Islam.
December 12, 2016: Djiboutian President’s Visit

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Djiboutian President Ismail Omar Guelleh in Cairo. The two leaders discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
February 13, 2017: Lebanese President Visit

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Lebanese President Michel Aoun at Ittihadia Palace. Sisi and Lebanese President discussed the conditions of Lebanese community in Egypt and the problems facing its members. President Sisi reiterated Egypt's full support to Lebanon. The talks of two Presidents deal with strengthening bilateral cooperation between Cairo and Beirut in various fields, in addition to the situation in the region, especially the Syrian crisis, Palestinian issue, file of the refugees and the fight against terrorism.
March 20, 2017: Palestinian President’s Visit

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas at an invitation by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. This visit comes in the framework of the continuous consultation and coordination between the two sides on various Arab and international issues of common interest. Sisi and Abbas discussed the humanitarian, economic and security situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, and the ideas suggested on the ways to revive the Middle East peace process.
March 22, 2017: Lebanese PM's Visit

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri. The meeting took up several issues of common concern including recent regional developments. President Sisi confirmed that Egypt and Lebanon are siding with one another in their battle against terrorism and extremism, asserting that Egypt's support for Lebanon to be able to overcome the repercussions of the Syrian crisis.
March 27, 2017: Bahraini King's Visit

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Bahraini King Hamad bin Issa al Khalifa for talks on means of boosting bilateral cooperation between the two countries and signing a number of agreements in various fields. The talks also take up developments in the Arab world, discuss bilateral cooperation in the field of counter-terrorism and exchange points of view in various regional issues.
May 17, 2017: Jordanian King's Visit

President Abdel Fatah El Sisi received King Abdullah II of Jordan upon his arrival at Cairo International Airport. The two leaders hold summit talks on ways of enhancing strategic relations as well as Egyptian and Arab efforts to break the stalemate in the Mideast peace process. The summit also tackles challenges facing the Arab world and efforts to close Arab ranks.

October 10, 2016: President Sisi's visit to Sudan
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi participated in the final session of Sudan's National Dialogue General Conference in Khartoum upon an invitation from Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir. Sisi's participation comes within the framework of special relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.
December 1-3, 2016: President Sisi’s visit to UAE

The visit of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to United Arab Emirates (UAE) came within the framework of following up continuous consultation and coordination between the two countries, as well as the President's participation in the activities of the National Day of the UAE. The talks of President Sisi with the leaders of UAE concentrated on ways to develop the distinguished bilateral relations at various levels, so as to enhance the strategic cooperation between the two countries to face the current regional challenges in the region.
April 23, 2017: President Sisi’s visit to Saudi Arabia

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi visits Saudi Arabia. The visit comes at an invitation of Saudi King Salman bin Abdel Aziz within the framework of the two sides' keenness on holding consultations on challenges to the Arab nation. An Egyptian-Saudi summit held during the visit to discuss the strategic ties between the two countries. The two leaders also discuss a host of regional and international issues of mutual concern, topped by combating terrorism that threatens peace and stability in the Arab region and the whole world.
May 3-4, 2017: President Sisi's visit to UAE

President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi heads to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for a two-day visit to hold talks with UAE leaders on enhancing bilateral relations and continuing consultations and coordination on various regional and international issues of common interest. The visit of the President to UAE comes within the framework of close brotherly relations between Egypt and the UAE, which contributes to promoting cooperation between the two countries in various fields and ensuring coordination in facing challenges of the Arab nation of boosting Joint Arab action and defending Arab National Security.
May 7-9, 2017: President Sisi's visit to Kuwait, Bahrain

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi arrived for Kuwait on a two-day official visit that will be followed by a visit to Bahrain. The talks include consultation and coordination over regional and international issues of common interest. Following his visit to Kuwait, Sisi heads for Bahrain for talks with King Hamad Bin Issa Al-Khalifa on promoting bilateral relations at all levels. The talks also tackles means of bringing closer Arab ranks so as to enhance the Arab world's ability to protect common interests and meet the aspirations of their peoples in addition to standing up against any attempts for foreign interference in the internal Arab affairs.

November 29, 2016: Eritrea President Visit

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received President of Eritrea Isaias Afwerki. President Sisi underscored the importance of developing bilateral relations with Eritrea at all levels, in light of the distinctive and historic ties binding the two countries. President Sisi stressed the importance of activating the joint Egyptian-Eritrean committee in order to boost bilateral cooperation in various sectors, including agriculture, livestock and fishery. Sisi hailed cooperation between Cairo and Asmara, asserting the importance of enhancing coordination and consultation within the framework of efforts seeking to maintain peace and stability in the region.
January 10, 2017: South Sudan President’s Visit

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received South Sudanese President Salva Kiir Mayardit at Ittihadiyah Palace. Both leaders discussed means of boosting mutual relations between Egypt and South Sudan State and developments in the Nile Basin and African Horn. Egypt and Sudan have enjoyed intimate and longstanding historical ties, seeing each other as closest allies in the North African region. The two countries are connected by various cultural ties and political aspirations.
February 16, 2017: Togolese President’s Visit
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Togolese President Faure Gnassingbé at the Ittihadiya presidential palace. President Sisi said that the visit reflects the distinguished relations between the two countries and emphasized that Egypt is committed to forging closer cooperation with Togo across all fields. He said that Egypt is keen on promoting cooperation with Togo in the various spheres, particularly in trade, infrastructure, maritime transport, agriculture and health. He added that the visit also comes within the framework of Egypt's efforts to further advance its relations with all African countries as well as its openness to Africa and its causes.
April 22, 2017: Congolese President’s Visit

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received his Congolese counterpart Joseph Kabila upon arrival at the presidential palace in Cairo. Sisi and his Congolese counterpart held talks on means of enhancing joint cooperation in the economic and commercial domains alongside a host of issues of mutual concern, especially cooperation among the Nile Basin countries.
May 10, 2017: Kenyan President's Visit

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta and his spouse at Cairo international airport while they were stopping en route to the United Kingdom. The two leaders held talks on means of boosting bilateral relations. Also, the meeting took up the latest African developments.
May 25, 2017: Guinean President’s Visit

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi receives Guinean President Alpha Conde. The two leaders discuss "means to bolster ties between the two countries on all levels, as well as regional and international developments. During the visit, the two leaders are scheduled to sign a number of military and security deals as well as education and culture agreements.

December 18, 2016: President Sisi’s visit to Uganda

The visit of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Uganda aimed at furthering bilateral relations in all domains, especially trade and economic ones and mulling possible increase of trade exchange. In addition to bilateral relations, talks to tackle a number of African issues of mutual interest in light of Uganda's efforts to achieve peace and security in the Nile basin, Horn of Africa and the African continent.
February 17, 2017: President Sisi’s visit to Kenya

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi started a one-day visit to Kenya. During his visit, Sisi met Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatt where they discussed ways to boost economic relations between the two countries, particularly in the light of their membership in the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA).

May 31, 2017: Uruguayan President’s Visit

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Uruguayan President Tabare Vazquez. Talks between President Sisi and the Uruguayan President addressed regional developments. Both leaders also discussed efforts exerted by Egypt to combat terrorism and extremist thoughts. President Sisi welcomed Uruguayan President’s first State visit to Egypt since the establishment of bilateral relations in 1932.

February 19, 2017: US Jewish organization delegation’s Visit
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received a delegation of US Jewish organizations. The President has reiterated the importance of reaching a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian problem, seeing in it a top priority that would help achieve peace and economic development in the region. Sisi said Egypt is acting to achieve comprehensive economic development through a number of measures meant to upgrade the infrastructure and build new cities and industrial zones. Sisi also touched upon measures to facilitate investment and counter corruption. Egypt is still fighting terrorism, which is a big threat to the Middle East region and the world.
April 1, 2017: President Sisi’s visit to USA

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi arrived in Washington on an official visit to the US at an invitation by US President Donald Trump. The visit comes as part of the two countries' keenness on promoting strategic relations. Sisi and Trump discussed ways of promoting relations in the coming phase along with enhancing coordination with the new US administration to restore momentum to Egyptian-US ties. The visit, the first since Trump took office, include discussions on regional and international issues.
President Sisi met with senior US officials and members of Congress. He also met with leaders of the US Chamber of Commerce and heads of major US companies to probe investment opportunities in Egypt.

Also, President Sisi convened with officials of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund to discuss ways of promoting cooperation between Egypt and the two international bodies in the various economic spheres.

October 11, 2016: Fourth Egyptian-Greek- Cypriot summit

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Cypriot President Nicholas Anastasiades and Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras for the Fourth Egyptian-Greek- Cypriot summit talks focusing on reinforcing joint cooperation in the energy and military fields along with means of combating extremism and terrorism. They also reviewed regional and international issues of common concern.
December 5, 2016: Slovenian President’s Visit

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received the Slovenian President Borut Pahor and his delegation and discussed means to enhance cooperation between Egypt and Slovenia in various fields. Slovenian President visited Egypt for the first time at the head of a high-level delegation, including a number of ministers, officials and representatives from 15 companies representing various sectors including energy, agricultural technology, industry, electricity and telecommunications.
January 14, 2017: Macedonian President’s Visit
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received President of the Republic of Macedonia GjorgeIvanov who arrived in Cairo to attend an international conference on security and democracy. The meeting took up means of boosting bilateral relations and joint investments.
January 15, 2017: Belarus President’s Visit

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko at Ittihadiyah Palace and affirmed that Egypt is keen on boosting bilateral relations with Belarus at all levels. President Sisi stressed the importance of bolstering cooperation and exchanging experience with Belarus in different fields, especially the development, economic and investment domains to achieve prosperity and progress in the two countries.
March 2-3, 2017: Chancellor Angela Merkel Visit

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The talks held between them tackled boosting bilateral cooperation in the economic field. The talks also touched on the latest developments in Libya, fighting terrorism, illegal immigration and the security conditions in the Middle East and Africa.
February 25 2017: British Foreign Secretary’s Visit

President Sisi briefed British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson on the steps of the ongoing economic reform program. He affirmed Egypt's keenness on achieving a qualitative leap in relations with the UK at all levels, especially with regard to promoting economic cooperation and increasing British investments in the country. He added that Egypt welcomes the support provided by the UK to Egypt to reach a loan agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The president said Egypt is keen on boosting cooperation with the UK in various fields, particularly in university and pre-university education as well as encouraging British investments in Egypt and expanding such activities in the coming period, especially in Suez Canal Economic Zone project.
April 28, 2017: Pope Francis’ Visit

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Pope Francis of the Vatican at al-Ittihadiya palace in Heliopolis, and held expanded talks in the presence of the two sides’ delegations. During the talks, President Sisi expressed his appreciation of Pope Francis’s humanitarian stances and his keenness to visit Egypt at this critical time.
For his part, Pope Francis hailed the important role played by Egypt in the Middle East to settle serious crises sweeping the region, expressing his support for Egypt’s efforts to eradicate violence and terrorism and bring about development.
May 24, 2017: Austrian Chancellor's Visit

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Austrian Chancellor Christian Kern. The two sides tackle bilateral relations and a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern. The two leaders held a press conference after the talks.

November 21-22: President Sisi's visit to Portugal

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's visit to Portugal comes as part of the two countries' keenness on enhancing bilateral ties in the coming period. During the visit, President Sisi also tackled ways of promoting political and diplomatic ties along with promoting cooperation in economy, scientific research and defense spheres. President Sisi also met with representatives of several academic and scientific institutions along with the Portuguese business community.

October 31, 2016: Singaporean President’s Visit

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received at the Presidential Palace Singaporean President Tony Tain. He said at a joint press conference that Egypt and Singapore agreed to expand bilateral cooperation and set up a number of joint development projects. He added that the two sides agreed on enhancing cooperation in the face of terrorism.

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi starts his visit to the Republic of India in response to Indian President Pranab Mukherjee invitation. President Sisi laid down a wreath on the tomb of late Indian leader Mahatma Ghandi in the Indian capital.
September 3-5, 2016: Sisi's visit to China
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi visited China to attend the G20 Summit. President Sisi participates in the G20 Summit as a special guest at an invitation from the Chinese president Xi Jinping. President Sisi attended a first working session on ways to foster coordination between international policies and open up new vistas for growth of the global economy.
