President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has stressed the importance of tightening control over markets to block any attempt to increase the prices of goods and services against the interests of citizens, especially the low-income brackets and needy people.

Sisi’s remarks came during his meeting Sunday with the prime minister, the governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, and ministers of defense, interior, justice, finance, and supply. The president also said the bodies concerned should be committed to implementing the new bread subsidy program, said Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef.

The meeting also touched on reviewing the outcome and recommendations of the fourth Youth Conference held at Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

The Presidential spokesman said the meeting also discussed the underway measures for establishing the national project for establishing a state full dressed data system and providing every possible support for the establishment of this base.

The spokesman said the meeting reviewed the progress of work on the establishment of the General Authority for developing Upper Egypt.

The meeting also reviewed the measures taken for developing the foreign exchange reserve, and efforts to end violations against the state owned land.
