Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said the projected visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Egypt comes as part of efforts to boost bilateral cooperation and address challenges besetting the region.
In an interview with Russia Today news Channel, Shoukry said Putin's visit will contribute to boosting relations with Egypt and expounding new vistas of cooperation between the two countries.
The two sides will exchange viewpoints over the crises in Syria and Yemen, anti-terror efforts as well as the Palestinian issue and the status of al Quds in light of the inability to reach a political settlement that helps set up an independent Palestinian state, he added.
About the resumption of Cairo-Moscow flights, Shoukry said there is no specific date for the resumption of flights between the two countries but contacts in this regard are underway.
