Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE denounce Helwan church attack

Bahrain strongly condemned the terrorist attack on Mar Mina Church in Cairo district of Helwan earlier in the day, leaving several persons dead and injured.

In a statement, the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Bahrain’s firm stance with Egypt in its war against all forms of terrorism, its supporters and its funders, as well as its full support for measures taken by Egypt to preserve its security and stability.

The ministry voiced confidence that the Egyptians are able to fight such terrorist acts through their unity.

It offered condolences to the Egyptian leadership and people and the families of the victims, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

The ministry affirmed Bahrain’s stance rejecting all forms of violence, extremism and terrorism and stressed the need to strengthen efforts to eliminate terrorism.

Also, Saudi Arabia vehemently condemned a terrorist attack on Mar Mina church in Helwan district in southern Cairo on Friday, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

An official source at the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed condolences of the Kingdom to the Egyptian government and people and the families of the victims, wishing the injured a speedy recovery. He also reiterated the Kingdom's solidarity with Egypt in face of such terrorist acts.

for his part, Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah al Ahmad al Jaber al Sabah Friday sent a cable of condolences to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi over the victims of two "terrorist" attacks in North Sinai and Cairo, KUNA reported.

In the cable, the Kuwaiti emir said the two terrorist attacks, which targeted a military vehicle and a church and left a number of soldiers and civilians dead and wounded, run counter to all heavenly religions and human values, target innocents and disrupt security and stability. He reiterated Kuwait's support for Egypt in all measures taken to preserve its security and stability, wishing a speedy recovery for those injured in the attacks.

Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf al Ahmad al Jaber al Sabah and Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber al Mubarak al Hamad al Sabah sent similar cables to the Egyptian president.

Also, the United Arab Emirates condemned the terrorist attack on Mar Mina Church in Cairo's Helwan district, which left several people dead and injured.

In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation offered its condolences to the families of the victims and the Egyptian government and people and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.

UAE denounces such terrorist acts, reiterating its solidarity with Egypt in its fight against terrorism, the statement read.
