German embassy condemns Helwan church attack
Saturday، 30 December 2017 - 11:36 AM

The German Embassy in Cairo on Friday strongly condemned a terrorist attack that targeted a church in Helwan district in Cairo earlier in the day.
In a statement, Ambassador to Egypt Julius Georg Luy said nothing can justify attacks on peaceful worshipers from any religion.
It is a sad reminder that terrorism reveals its inhumane face even at the end of the year by attacking places of worship, the ambassador said.
Terrorism would not be allowed to spread division between the Egyptians, he added.
Luy expressed Germany's full support for Egyptian in its war against terrorism.
General Bishop of Copts in Germany Anba Damian condemned on Friday the terrorist attack on Mar Mina Church in Cairo's Helwan.
Anba Damian praised the vigilance of the security forces and the way they dealt with the terrorist attack, stressing the need to carry out death sentences and enforce law on all who threaten Egypt's security.
Anba Damian said this attack will strengthen the unity of the Egyptian people, underlining the necessity of standing firm in the face of terrorism.
