President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has signed a bill amending some provisions of the Penal Code No. 58/1937 to intensify penalty against children kidnappers.

The President also signed a bill amending some provisions of the law no. 396 /1956 concerning the Organization of Prisons and its Regulations.

The amended law stipulates that prisoner will be conditionally released after serving half of his term, instead of two thirds.

The minimum duration to be spent in prison was reduced to six months instead of nine months, to take advantage of this release.
