Communiqué number 13: 13 takfiris killed, 86 wanted criminals, terrorists arrested in Sinai

The Armed Forces have killed 13 takfiris and arrested 86 wanted criminals and terrorists within the course of the Comprehensive Operation Sinai 2018 (COS 2018).

The Armed Forces issued on Thursday 1/3/2018 its 13th statement on the outcome of Comprehensive Operation Sinai 2018 that was launched on February 9 to fight terrorism in North and Central Sinai and other areas in the Nile Delta and the desert areas west of the Nile Valley.

According to the statement, the Armed Forces destroyed several targets and hideouts of terrorists. 

Air forces destroyed nine targets used by terrorists as hideouts and two booby-trapped cars.

Thirteen armed takfiri elements were killed in an exchange of gunfire with elements of the Armed Forces. 

As many as 100 huts, hideouts and warehouses containing explosives, binoculars (field glasses), a telescope and military uniforms, in addition to large quantities of fuel and auto spare parts were destroyed.

Ten explosive devices were dismantled.

Eighty-six very dangerous terrorists and wanted criminals were arrested.

Nine vehicles and 18 unlicensed motorbikes were seized and destroyed.

 Six bango and hashish farms were destroyed and more than 5,650 kg of narcotics were seized.

 Eleven vehicles without license plates were seized with large quantities of duty-unpaid goods.

Two satellite phones and 15,000 smuggled cigarette packs were seized.

 A motorbike, a four-wheel-drive vehicle and a warehouse were destroyed. 

 Forty-two infiltrators were arrested.

Combat groups of the Armed Forces and Interior Ministry continue operating 602 security patrols and setting up checkpoints across the nation.

The statement reiterated armed forces and police's persistence to eradicate the roots of terrorism and achieve security and stability for the great Egyptian people.
