Foreign Correspondents Continue Media Coverage of Elections' Second Day with No Complaints

For the second day in a row, State Information Service ( SIS) operations' room spares no effort to ensure steady communication with foreign correspondents, whether resident or visiting, to follow their media coverage since voting starts at 9 AM on the second day of presidential elections.

So far and since polls opened at 9 AM till 2 PM in Cairo, Giza and Alexandria governorates, members of SIS operations' room got in touch with the representatives of 175 media outlets, out of which 148 are accredited resident correspondents representing 14 Asian media outlets, 71 Arab, 45 American and 18 European. So far, SIS operations' room received 3 complaints and inquiries from resident correspondents, mainly about problems as regards having access to polling stations, thus representing 2% of the total number of correspondents. All complaints were resolved in complete coordination with the National Elections Authority and all competent bodies.

Furthermore, SIS operations' room got in touch with visiting correspondents representing 27 media outlets who reported no complaints or difficulties during their media coverage.

SIS operations' room works round- the-clock and keeps all communication channels open with all resident and visiting correspondents who have been officially approved to cover the presidential elections, totaling 680, with the aim of solving all problems that may encounter them during their media coverage, as well as responding to all their inquiries via the hotline 16149.
