The National Election Authority (NEA), led by Lashin Ibrahim, filed a complaint to the Supreme Media Council (SMC) against Al-Masry Al-Youm and the New York Times newspapers over publishing false news and statements that aim at insulting the presidential elections and the authority.

The NEA called on the SMC to take all measures required against the newspapers.

Earlier, these newspapers claimed the electoral process witnessed violations without providing any evidence about such violations.
