Egypt is keen on boosting communications with the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights (ACHPR).
These remarks were made on Friday 27/04/2018 by the Egyptian delegation to the 62nd Ordinary Session of the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights, that kicked off on Wednesday and will run until May 9 in Nouakchott, Mauritania.
Human rights have topped Egypt’s priorities after January 2011 and June 2013 revolutions, during which Egyptians called for freedom, dignity and the establishment of a democratic regime based on human rights and fundamental freedoms, said the Egyptian envoy.
Egypt has submitted a report on the overall developments pertaining to human rights conditions in the country. The report also highlighted Egypt’s keenness to present its periodical reports in this regard on time.
Egypt is going through a critical phase in which it is keen on promoting human rights, a move that coincides with its battle against terrorism, said head of the human rights sector at the foreign ministry Wael Nasr Eddine, who also led the Egyptian delegation.
