President Sisi’s Visit to Sudan

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi will fly on Thursday 25/10/2018 for Khartoum on an official visit during which he will meet Sudanese President Omar Al Bashir within the framework of the Joint Higher Egyptian Sudanese committee.

 

The summit between the two leaders will address means of boosting bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in all domains. The summit will further tackle a number of Arab, regional and international issues of common interest.

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said Egyptian-Sudanese relations have been witnessing a tangible momentum over the past period culminated today with the convocation of the meetings of the second session of the joint higher committee. In a joint press conference with Sudanese President Omar al Bashir in Khartoum, president Sisi expressed appreciation for the warm welcome and hospitality he received upon his arrival in Khartoum.

He expressed confidence that the coming period will see more constructive efforts as regards the implementation of the strategic partnership document signed between the two countries in 2016.

 

  

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi hailed Egyptian-Sudanese relations as strategic, praising the success of a joint higher committee meeting which he co-chaired with his Sudanese counterpart Omar al Bashir.

 

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry asserted that the visit of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his accompanying delegation to Sudan is a successful visit at all levels.This came after a number of agreements and memorandum of understandings that aim at serving the interests of the two peoples were signed between the two countries.

 

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his Sudanese counterpart Omar Al Bashir commended cooperation throughout this year, which led to the signing of 12 cooperation agreements in various fields. During the closing statement of the 2nd round of the joint Egyptian-Sudanese Presidential Committee, the two leaders voiced their satisfaction with the results of the technical meetings held in August. They also lauded the results of the meetings held this month at the ministerial level, the last of which took place on October 24 of which the two sides agreed on a number of cooperation deals and memos of understanding in many sectors including agriculture, trade, health, higher education, capacity building and training.

The two leaders agreed to hold the meetings of the 3rd round of the joint presidential committee in October 2020 in Cairo. This came after they approved the outcome of the joint technical and ministerial meetings that were concluded this month.

  

 

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi returned home after a day-long visit to Sudan during which he held summit talks with his Sudanese counterpart Omar Bashir. The summit tackled boosting cooperation in a way that would better serve the interests of the Egyptian and Sudanese peoples. The two leaders attended the signing ceremony of a package of memos of understanding and executive programs in medical, agricultural, education, media, youths and sports domains.
